My recommended diving books 07 April 2008
Posted in Diving.

I have loads of people asking me what books to read and websites to visit in preparation for First Class Diver and National Instructor. Here is a selection of what's on my shelf. If you have the time also take a look at my useful links for divers.
Of course the first thing I must say is get out there diving and if not diving, planning a dive! These books are for consultation strictly for when one has been:
- blown out
- bored with the inlaws/outlaws at Christmas
- bored with ridiculous soaps on TV
- trapped in the loo following a particularly fierce phaal
- trapped on a liveaboard with G&T guzzling sunseekers
- in bed when the 'Mrs' has her rollers in or the 'Mr' has taken his false teeth out...
On my shelf:
British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC)
- All the Skill Development Course manuals (you have to do the course first!)
- The Dive Manual (even if you experienced you will get something out of it)
- Dive leading
- Seamanship: a guide for divers
- All the Technical Course Manuals (these are really excellent)
- The diving instructors manual (indispensable for the National Instructor - NI - candidate)
